Betsy says she loves illustrating for children because it is there that she can best express her love of drawing and sense of humor.Work in progress includes illustrating two of her own books. Booby Hatch is the story of a blue-footed booby, a tale inspired by the author's visit to the Galapagos Islands. The book is scheduled to be published by Clarion Books in 1994. Walk a Green Path, a collection of intimate watercolor landscapes accompanied by the author's brief, poetic text, will be published in 1994 by Lothrop, Lee and Shepard.Betsy Reilly Lewin was born and grew up in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. She now resides in Brooklyn with author-illustrator husband Ted and their two cat, Slick and Chopper.
