San Jose, Christine
A love of language has led Christine San Jose to a lifelong involvement with the process of thinking, reading, writing, and dramatization. A senior editor of Highlights for Children, Christine served as language arts editor for Zaner-Blosner, Inc., and co-authored the company's "Spelling Connections" textbook series.Christine has arrived at her deep understanding of children and the language that serves them by teaching virtually every level of school and all aspects of the language arts. She is a former assistant professor of education theory and practice at Ohio State University. She has done consulting work in the areas of language arts, children's literature, reading, and staff development in England, Peru, Israel, and the United States.Christine has also written a variety of articles, textbook chapters, films, and fiction. She is a storyteller of considerable talent, and finds that a great help in her writing.She received her Ph.D. from Syracuse University and holds a postgraduate certification of education from the University of London. Christine is a popular and dynamic speaker at teacher's and writer's gatherings throughout the country. Christine is the mother of three grown sons.
